      Mission Accomplished.

All it takes is a positive comment about Obama.

Like playing with cats and a laser pointer.
They told me if I voted for Hillary Clinton the president would be emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable. They were right. I voted for Hillary Clinton and got a president that is emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable.

I'm not saying you're stupid. I'm saying you have bad luck when it comes to thinking.

Let me know how that whole conservative agenda is working out for you in WI. All of the cool things firefighters have don't amount to a hill of beans if it isn't for support from the political establishment. Whether it be the latest gizmo, or the salary you use to pay your mortgage and put food on the table. Yet for some reason our "brethren" insist on supporting the party that kicks them in the head every day.

You keep saying the same stupid crap over and over and over. Actually I am voting third party this election because hillary is a lying, corrupt tool of the left and in fact a better war mongering republican than trump, and trump being trump disqualifies him in my mind,

Keep trying to paint me into the corner that is convenient for you. Too bad it just makes you look foolish. Once again let me state for your clarification I NEVER supported scooter walker the corrupt republican governor of my state and I marched on the capitol in support of ALL my Union Brothers and Sisters. What have you ever done besides being a pot stirring agitator that is like a stuck 45rpm record squawking the same schitt over and over and over and then relishing in accomplishing nothing.

Have a nice life I'm done with you and your game playing. Its like trying to reason with a 2 year old, except a 2 year old is more rational than you.

It's been a while since I was on here, drifted away when the bickering got in the way of a good discussion.
Anyway, here's my latest two cents:
Was anyone else disappointed with the September 2016 issue of Firehouse magazine.......I mean on the 15th Anniversary of September 11th all they could manage was one page of "Major Incident Coverage Through The Years"......REALLY???????
              Shame on the Firehouse staff

And what is the position of the candidate you are supporting vis a vis support of public safety? Libertarians view public servants with more derision than the GOP. Get the ice ready for the kick in the head that person will deliver if they are successful.

                See above response.

I'm having a great life. Thank you. I work in a state where the Gov. hasn't declared war on public employee unions like yours. I recommend it.

The US has an incredibly short memory and attention span. The fact that life for the vast majority of Americans was not affected much, if at all, even in 2001 has led to a national apathy about the terrorist attack. Sad, even pathetic, that it has come to this.

Add to that the fact that a major segment of our population doesn't even remember it.

We had two youngsters do part of our local 9/11 service - neither was alive on 9/11/01. When you figure in those who were too young to understand/remember, you have virtually our entire population under the age of 21.

A friend who is an eighth grade teacher has entire classrooms full of kids who hadn't been born yet.
Opinions my own. Standard disclaimers apply.

                          FyredUp and tree68,

My upset has little to do with the general population but with our very own community and Firehouse magazine as a representative of our community. Is the best Firehouse Magazine can do on the 15th Anniversary one stinking page? That's terrible! And the fact that we are making excuses for the lack of remembrance only compounds the issue.

                            Truckie - I don't disagree.

We see it on the local level, as well. Our local (county) memorial service, now held on 9/11 each year, also recognizes local firefighters who have passed away in the past year (in general - not just LODD). Sometimes no one from those individual's departments attends the service...

Hmmm.....we used to meet by the bike racks.

I was only about 10 years old at the time. I wonder how the populace reacted in 1956 on Dec. 7. I know people are respectful of what happened 9/11, but I don't hold it against them if they do nothing to commemorate it.

For a number of years, the TV show "The Twentieth Century" ran their show about December 7th at about that time of year. Of course, with only 3-5 channels to watch in the first place, it was hard to miss.
