My company just purchased a used Q2B for our 74 Mack CF. It used to have a Q on, so it was easy to wire up, but when we tested it, we noticed that it was "tight", and winded down quickly. It also seems to make a clunking noise, almost like the bearings are shot? Is there any way to correct these problems?

The bearings can be purchased at a "bearing house" type of store ie; Berry Bearing. If my memory serves me correctly they run about 25$ ea. I would check out the drive clutch first since you have to remove it to access the bearings. There are several types depending on the year (s/n). The most common are a ball & wedge or a screw type. both are not very complicated, just keep track of how it comes apart! and assembling is easy. Clean the clutch up and I'll bet it works good. As far as lube goes I recomend graphite powder (not on the friction surfaces though keep them dry)grease tends to collect dust and gum-up. Hope this helps
