Actually, I don't moonlight. But an old buddy of mine does. By day he is a mild mannered paramedic delivering folks to the hospital. By night, he undergoes some sort of strange transformation and becomes a pizza delivery driver (nothing against pizza delivery drivers!) for a mutual friend that owns a Pizza Hut. My buddy, the paramedic, his motto is: "I don't deliver anything cold!" Gross but it works.

Good thing because some calls Im the only officer to show during working hours.rural depts in our area have low day time turn outs. plus the job jar thing

I work at the local childrens hospital as a suture tech, a position where I suture and cast children. Its a nice change of pace, with a lot of autonomy, but the hours are starting to suck. My wife is expecting twins in february, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to work 20hrs a week on top of my 24/48..

Ahhhh...you guys really kill me...I wonder if it's possible to combine the male prossie thing with the beer truck thing...and come up with a Honey Do salmon? I can see the headlines now: OFF DUTY FIREFIGHTER ARRESTED IN DRAG AFTER SNAGGING BEER TRUCK WITH FLY ROD. So I guess that my chimney sweeping thing isn't half bad then...

Well, I work all year at the fire dept so i can go up to bristol bay alaska and work my $#@ off for 40 cents a pound for the most beautyful sockeye salmon in the world. Im not bitter that all the farm fish on the market are making me "basicly" fish for free. This is what i did for a living befor i was hired full time. Would any body like to by a bristol bay gill netter? Id rather drive a beer truck. Oh yea DONT EAT THAT FARM FISH IT SUCKS.. .......Stay safe brothers!

I know a few guys on a small paid department(2 stations) and I would say that close to half of the department works for a local beer distibutor. The operations manager at the distibutor used to be a member of the department, so he hooks his buddies up with jobs. They work 24 on, and can drive the truck either or both of their 2 days off. They cover the regular drivers who are on vacation or take the smaller delivery routes and some make what they make for the FD, so its a really good deal.

started a topic MOONLIGHTING: What are YOU doing after work?

MOONLIGHTING: What are YOU doing after work?

This topic may have been touched on before, but I must have missed it in previous posts. I'm just curious what others are doing that 'moonlight' after hours. I for example used to be a full time military firefighter and worked part time as a chimney sweep... now I'm a civilian volly, and own my own full time chimney sweep business. Who'd a thought that would happen?? Not me. I look forward to hearing what ya'll are up to! Play Safe Folks..! Pat
