Okay folks, strange question for you. I need ideas on some items for menus that follow the standard firehouse protocol: cheap, good, and lots of it. Any ideas, suggestions? What's your favorite dish?

Feeding the masses
"I hate it when someone says something is impossible, because then I have to go and find a way to do it."
Whatever it is, I didn't do it, and I don't know anything about a fire. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
Stay safe, boys and girls. It's for keeps out there.Tags: None

On my shift it is "a pound a man, a can a man and a box a man". That is, if you have 10 guys eating you need a 10-pound roast, 10 pounds of potatoes, and 10 cans of green beans and most important BUTTER, not that margarine crap. Don't it drive you crazy when someone says, "oh, you use real butter", I did not know there was such a thing as "fake" butter.
Also stay away from chicken and fish. People want you to think chicken and fish are so healthy...when is the last time you saw a cow eat it's own young.
