  • AMR EMPLOYEES DISRESPECTING THE FD

The other day I notice the personal vehicle of an AMR employee with one of those BAD BOY DECALS the ones that PEE ON DIFFERENT THINGS SUCH AS FORD SYMBOLS AND SUCH, WELL THIS ONE JUST HAPPENED TO BE PEEING ON MY DEPARTMENT NAME>>> TO SOME THIS IS FUNNY BUT NOT WHEN YOU RUN JUST ABOUT EVERY CALL WITH THESE GUYS. Now I know that I cant take it out on all of the AMR employees but this just changed my whole view of them, and the courtesy I once had towards them is dwindling down.......

Well it is kinda funny. But realy, I've seen many wars between companies but this is pretty out there. As long as it is not the opinion of the rest of the other co. why even care, hell even if it was why would you care. We are here to do a job plain and simple do it to your best and make sure the decisions you make are the ones you can sleep with. The hell with the rest.

        AMR = American Medical Response

It is a private ambulance company that is all over the country.

Well, apparently they aren't all over the country. Never seen 'em in my neck of the woods... . We have 3 privates up here, Pellin, R/M, and Clemente-McKay. Thanks for explaining it.

This is some digruntled jealous person who wants to be on the job with the rest of us. While I really wouldn't dwell on it, no sense of getting my BP up over an immature person, if I ever ran into him I'd ask what his problem is. The fact is we are better then that, more professional, and more then likely also better paid. Take it as a good laugh, and don't let it add to the stress we already face.

              -----------------------------------------
The above is my opinion only and doesn't reflect that of any dept/agency I work for, deal with, or am a member of.

You could always make up your own "bad boy" decal peeing on AMR...

Seriously...there are AMR personnel who are friendly and easy to work with, then there are those with the "paraGod" and "EMTGod" syndrome. AMR does the transports in my community and we have both types working here...thank God most of them are the friendly type. You can't judge an entire organization by the actions of a single individual.

My FD actually has 3 AMR employees from their Hartford branch serving our force. 1 is strictly a member as an EMT, the other 2 are LT's.

In RI AMR is just one of about 6 private ambulance companies that do strictly interfacility transports. Not much room for a Paragod when all he's doing is getting hacked and coughed on all day.

Almost forgot, at my college in Worcester we use them to transport suspected alcohol poisonings and minor injuries (the drunk that fell and hit her head outside my room, the Liquid Courage-induced fights, etc).

All I've got to say is, "Their's one in every crowd"

Granted, we are supposed to be one big happy family but there is that one guy...ALSFirefighter, you said it right, don't lose sleep over it.

The Question to ask is, "What did you ever do to him"???

                        The world may never know!!

Personally, i think the sticker is kind of funny. I mean just because they are jealous of the FD doesn't mean they have to cower. Sure we have Axes that can take down doors, but they have those little hammers to test your knee reflexes. I bet in a pinch those could cause some damage. And sure we get to use hydraulic tools to seperate cars from eachother, but you would also be amazed the thousands of different things you can do with a gurney.

Actually i'm entirely joking. I completely respect AMR and all the work they do, and maybe this is another sign that we shouldn't take ourselves all that seriousley.

For the most of it AMR here in Johnson County Texas is great to work with. there are a few of the emploies that I personally don't get along with but oh well. They stay rent free in our station and mostly good about cleaning up after themselves, once again we have a select few that are slobs.. Haven't had a problem with a peeing sticker yet.... Ask that one why he feels that why and if he ever drives through your district, if he does hope not everyone has seen his sticker. Could be a wetting experience if he ever needed the help....
