NFPA requirements for SCBA

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find out the NFPA requirements for SCBA. My department is looking at buying new SCBA and we want to know what the requirements are instead of being told that a particular item is compliant and not knowing what compliant is.

Any info would be appreiated.

The manufacturer of the scba you are looking at should be able to provide you with all current NIOSH and NFPA standards. If not look at a different manufacturer. I am not sure of the NIOSH number but the NFPA is 1981, 1997 edition effective September 1997. I can send you a copy if you e-mail me with your mailing address.
