Can anybody tell me what the NFPA number for the amount of radios in a truck is? I know that you are suppose to atleast have 2. A handheld and a base (the one that stays in the truck). I cant get my hands on any current NFPA books. Any help would be appreciate it. Thanks

NFPA 1221, the standard for the installation, maintenance, and use of public fire service communications systems, is the only NFPA standard that I am aware of which addresses fire service radio requirements. In reviewing it, I found that it only requires that a all fire apparatus be equipped with a mobile radio. I found no requirements for a minimum number of portable radios per apparatus. There may be other standards that require a minimum number of portables, but I haven't seen or heard of any.
