What is difference between a defensive search and an offensive search? I have been trained how to search a building, but I have never heard it refered to in this way. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Fireeater: As I teach the subject, a offensive search in here you enter and search the entire structure, or as much of it as the fire will allow.
In a defensive search, the building is either well involved, or in danger of collapse. This type of search would only involve searching exits or under windows (areas where we would normally find victims) We would not penetrate the structure.
    Hope this helps

I've been doing this for nine years, and have never heard those terms before. But I have done those types of searches, and DC Kron's definitions make perfect sense to me...
