  • Pre-planning software

Before anyone asks, I did check the forums for information on this subject but didn't really find what I needed.

My chief tasked me with researching pre-planning software for our engine that will be compatible with the Apple iOS platform. I did some research of the top pre-planning software, such as First Look Pro and Mobile Eyes. First look pro is not compatible with Apple, however Mobile Eyes is, but their website doesn't show screenshots of the actual software, they only explain its capabilities.

My question, if your fire department uses pre-planning software, compatible with Apple iOS, what do you use or what are your recommendations.

Web-based preplanning is the best way to go. Access your pre plans from any computer, anytime, anywhere with an internet connection. Blazemark is an outstanding program.

we are looking to either use an all-in-one system on the apple platform (developing and then using the pre-plan) or using another type software that would allow to develop the pre-plan on the station computer for example, and then upload it to the iPad.

Oddly, I am looking into the same thing that you are. Only for Android Platform.

If you are looking to do your drawings with the ipad, I would look into Apex MobileSketch from Apex software. They have a really great software and it is compatible with their desktop sketch program which once you play with it and understand the concept it is pretty awesome. With the MobileSketch, you can also use a Leica Disto bluetooth enabled lasure measuring tool to input your real time measurements into Apex MobileSketch while you are drawing with your Ipad or other tablet computer. (You may want to know that this will not work with the IOS9 update)

If you are looking to organize your pre-plans and keep them updated on your ipad, take a look at the "Extinguish APP" they look like they have a really nice app and are offering a free trial as well. It will keep your pre fire plans updated (though i'm not sure if they are cloud based or if they update the data locally on the ipad) - https://extinguishapp.com/

And if you happen to find any Android compatible products, sent them my way!

This is a pretty old thread but did you check out Firescape? Firescape has developed an app that aim specifically at preplans and is free. Does this fill your needs and what do you think of it? Is it similar you to what you are using?
