What's all this talk of "Heros"?

Maybe I should just "let this go", but for some reason it gets to me.

What is the big fuss about whether or not we are "heros"? It is getting to the point that I HATE that word. Why are we so concerned about being recognized? What exactly do we hope to gain by complaining about people considering Dale Earnhardt a hero and not the Worchester 6? Why do we CARE if Bush did not fly the flag at the State Capitol for firefighters LODD, and then turning around and lowering it for Tom Landry? I mean, I just want to express my opinion, and get some others as well. Is it me that is screwed up in not thinking of us a "heros"?

If you have read any of my postings in the past regarding these topics, I am sure you are aware of my opinion on the matter. WE give homage to our brothers and sisters when they fall. Who cares about the rest of the civilian world?

Just my .02. Feel free to correct me if you think I off base.

Well, for one thing, I didn't join the Emergence services to be a "Hero" I thought rescuing people from burning buildings and saving lives (EMS) was part of our Job Description. If you want to be a "Hero", save the planet from a perilling asteroid. I know some people who think their the greatest thing, but I usually don't bother with them, the "I'm too hot to handle" type, anyway your claims are justified.
