  • Inspection fees

How much does your Department charge for doing inspections? The average fee that the Marlborough Fire Department charges for inspections and permits is $25.

Should an inspection fail (for example, non functioning smoke detectors, no house numbers, etc.) there is a $25 reinspection fee.

In 2000, the Department brought in $39,000 in inspection and permit fees.

In the state of KY we have no authority to inspect any residential structure. We can do site inspections at larger multi family housing complexes. We do inspect each business annually. Some of the larger industrial buildings are done twice a year. We also inspect all schools and public buildings. Each of these inspections is free, as well as all re-inspections.

In Mountain Home we inspect all commercial buildings once a year. This service is pre-paid through there tax dollars so there is no further charge from the FD.
