My name is Bryan Gammill and I am a new forums member and I wrote a poem for a fallen firefighter here in Denver and I dont know whether I should submit it to the chief or not. Let me know what you think about it. Thanks
*In Loving Memory Of Robert Krump*
It’s a dream that you live as a child,
A man dressed up in his bunkers and his helmet,
Not knowing the risks but still loving a fireman,
For some that dream fades, and for others it continues,
It’s a dream that few find to become reality,
It’s a dream that takes whole person
The whole heart, soul, mind, and body,
They have a God given personality,
Every word for dispatch is from a stranger,
Stranger, friend, or family they want to help,
Never knowing the situation, but never caring,
Moving in so carefully, knowing the risks,
They know what has to be done,
Not knowing what lies ahead, but someone needs their help,
They’ll give their life for yours, without a doubt,
They become heroes to some,
One losing his life to a stranger, would only say “I was doing my job,”
It’s a dream that might become a nightmare,
But it’s a dream in its self to be a fireman!
