A three-year-old girl is in critical but stable condition, and her eight-year-old sister hailed a hero, after a farm accident Monday evening in eastern Ontario, police said. The girl was playing in a barn with her eight-year-old sister, when the younger girl got her foot caught in a piece of machinery, police said. The machine pulled the girl into a gutter used for removing manure. The older sister turned off the machine and jumped into the gutter after her sister, keeping her head above the water that filled the gutter, police said. Emergency services were called shortly after to airlift the three-year-old to the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. The girl may lose her foot.
