  • Broken or non NFPA compliant helmet?

Hello, I am looking for a traditional style helmet preferably black but will look at other colors. Helmet does not need to be functional ad it WILL NOT be put into service. I am a volunteer and a local photographer my department will not let me use my helmet for what I am wanting to do, nor is it healthy.

I am wanting to use the helmet as a photography prop for kids and whomever else may need it. I also want/need one for an add campaign for the local burn center. Proceeds and donations will help fund burn research and the overall life quality for burned children and other fire victims.

Can anyone help with this? Or know where I can turn? I have contacted all three major manufactures and have not yet heard back,

    Thanks Andrew

Was hoping to avoid eBay, the more cost I incur the less in donations that the burn unit will recieve.

I Have contacted the three major helmet manufactures to see if they can help, awaiting their response. Also, I guess o could try some of the larger departments in the area.

Since you have not provided a location in which you are located, I find it hard to help you out.

You could check with the area departments in and around you to see if they may have adamage helmet, whcih you could have or borrow for the project.

I know people who just for kicks have bought old unservicable helmets on ebay for as little as 99 cents with a few bucks shipping. When it showed up, it was as advertised. A fire helmet that you couldn't use for the job, but would look good made into a hanging light above the pool table. (Or in your case, a photography prop)

On ebay - thay sell red or black traditional looking COSTUME helmets that are almost identical copies of a Morning Pride Ben 2...they go for about $40 shipped. Then you get an old front device and some real tetrahedrons and there you go.

Here is a link to a halloween store that has it for 30
