What type system does Los Angeles Fire Department use?

I have asked all of my buddies about what kind of radio system LAFD uses and i get mixed response about it. I know they use XTS5K's to communicate through the repeater sites (on the frequencies below). But, do they use motorola smartzone, conventional, trunked, etc? This isn't a important question just merly my curiosity... Thanks

Uh, did you not claim to be a Motorola Radio Tech?

Even the most basic M tech would know from the list you posted that the system would NOT be trunked or smartzone. (Which is funny by itself, Smartzone is trunked, so you basically asked twice if it was trunked)

Heck, even a somewhat competent installer would know.

Yes i am a "big" M tech but i haven't gotten into the relm of trunking very deep (hell, i hate trunking) Ask Orlando, FL Fire Department how they like trunking

I am aware that the frequencies i listed are the outputs of a conventional repeater system but i don't live in LA so for all i know those aren't even the right frequencies, or maybe LAFD uses a Trunked system to supplement their conventional system... I don't know (that's why i asked)

Now, Can anybody from LAFD help me with this question?

You are not a Motorola tech. You may work at a dealership as an installer part time, but you are not a tech. You have not been to Motorola schools. You have not even done mavpaks. You don't work for Motorola.

How do I know? I was slinging solder for Motorola since before you were born. I have partied with Leo Ziminski. Danced on the stage at the same time together with a bunch of Vegas show girls in fact, to Mambo #5. Was a dealer for a number of years. Was a MSS for a number of years. You however are having to google MSS to even find out what it is.

Now, you can call yourself whatever you want. Just don't expect people to believe you.
