  • Webbing with carabiners

I want to carry a piece of webbing with a carabiner attached to each side and was hoping for some suggestions on how to do this. Regular knots such as a bowline or figure eight on i bight do not seem to work well with webbing. I thought of sewing a loop but though that this might compromise the strenght of the webbing.

You can tie a loop with a water knot in it for the webbing. Best bet if you are not sure how to do that is to look up water knot loop and see some videos on it. It is basically the same as a water knot but instead of using two free ends you leave some slack and a loop and follow it back through. Very general explanation but the videos do better.

Here's an outstanding video that will probably help with what you're trying to do. It's made by Capt Dale Pekel from Wauwatosa Fire Department in Wisconsin. It describes a cool method for tieing and stowing webbing that can be quickly and easily deployed.

He also has a ton of excellent videos on youtube under the username FFDGP.

        Hope that helps!
