Only comment is that the results would have been the same whether the Fire Department showed up or not.

Yes, which is precisely why it is important to be proficient and skillfull in all aspects of structural firefighting- including ground ladder useage. Even if your own community does not possess anything more than one-story buildings, you still have to work with what the other guy has.

But, I am sure we will soon be deluged with 623,433 reasons why "it's just a matter of fact" or "quite honestly", or "in reality" that it is not important for a certain select group of individuals to have such skills.

Another fire in some apartments that is burning.

Check with the 911 center call takers and see when the first call for the fire came in!

Maybe everyone thought that somebody else called it in. The person taking the videos should, have called it in, if he didn't and then take the videos and make his dumb comments.

The dispatch center timeline would be interesting to see.

Of course, the ubiquitous "20 minutes" (or in the case of one comment on one video, 15 minutes) may also be at work here.

We all know it takes at least 20 minutes for the fire department to arrive, even if they were sitting out front when the 9-1-1 call was made....

I'd never attack another fire department, especially because of one person. Hopefully lafire's reactive type of teaching will turn into proactive. To say "history has taught us, simply not needed, highly unlikely" is a recipe for disaster.

How many times had he passed that apartment complex and said "it would probably be a pot on the stove fire, thats what they always are, and its not even in our district, no need to be prepared"
