Fire Cap who else uses this

Our Volunteer Dept uses FIRE CAP for all Class A fires.homes/grass for the last 5 years We have tryed a lot of them out there this stuff is our cats meow. have any other dept used or tryed this stuff. Its a great wetting agent and with a eductor it will foam some what 2"/3"s also heard from the owner that it has been approved for alcohol/ fuel fires. for grass fires we use 1/2 gal per 300 gal of water with Great results a little pricey $25 per gal but manpower used per hour VS $ per no contest spend the $ not the man. So, the web site has been around since 2004 and still no FM, UL, USDA listings? And we are to believe it is a wetting agent AND a class B foam suitable for use on polar solvents? There is no doubt that it slices, it dices, it rices, and moreeeee.

Bragging somewhat NOT trying to sell anything but was also looking to see if anyone else was useing it .And as far as every 300 ft sounds like your located in a populated area. we are rural as it gets out here nearest hydrent is 8 miles away if it's working and aid is futher away and with 2 to 3 ff during the weekday and only 9 in the evenings if everbody in area. (not conplaining just explaining) why we are useing it. and get input about PRO'S and CON'S you might have experienced with this stuff. And your right it has no certs from the big 3 (FM, UL, USDA) but it is biodegradable and not hazardous to wildlife and the US fish and wildlife are looking into useing it for brush and grass fires to help strech water.and as far as fool and money Whos the fool with a firefighter in the hospital with heat exhaution what cost more NOW

See, now, this is exactly why I'd want it certified, tested, and recommended by the 'big 3'. All we have is your word on how wonderful and incredible and fan-diddly-tastic it is - and honestly, your word is not only an unknown but rather incomprehensible.

So, thanks, but no thanks until an independent panel reviews and recommends it.

Looking for info not obscurantism

would we not be an (independent panel) of firefighters? You know the guys that do the same jobs that you do. Not lab coats telling you it works great in laboratory testing .Probably not. The hole ideal behind this post was not to cause cynical remarks but to see if anybody else was useing it and the possible downsides we have yet to find.So please if you have not tryed it because its lack of approvel from the FM, UL, USDA thats OK
