Minimum company standards

We follow the NFPA times, extend night call responses and yes if we don't make our times we lose % which means that our UFR Funds are possibly cut. To us, it's a big deal to get out of the house quick.

I have been wondering if any other dept. has minimum company standards ie: time to put on turn outs, air pack, stretch a cross lay, take a hydrant, ect. And if you do are they punitive if time is not made.

Seriously ..

1 minute out of the station days; 2 minutes at night.

1 minute for PPE; 2 minutes for PPE w/ SCBA.

Full vitals w/in 2 minutes of the scene of an EMS run.

As far as fireground, we have no minimum times as manpower and situations vary.

We do have expectations about hose lines and extrication tools and hydraulic lines should be pulled off, and how efficiently it gets deployed, but we have no specific time standards.

Out of the house within 90 to 120 seconds.

60 seconds to put your TO's on

60 seconds or less for the breather.


As soon as the pumper stops you can take the hydrant, ususally shouldn't take no longer than 30 seconds.

Pulling a proconnected 150 ft hose line no longer than 60 seconds.


Only 60 seconds allowed in the head. 180 seconds if you are sitting!!
