  • A Good Day

Conducted a controlled burn of a trailer at my VFD today.

Nobody got hurt and we were able to get about 5 nice hot room burns (and a couple of duds) out of it before we let it go.

The new guys got a lot out of it.

I had to play IC, but I did get in on one nice hot burn.

That's a good day in my book. No injuries plus everyone got a chance to get some work in. Hard to beat that.

5 burns out of a mobile home? Really?

I help teach a class on live fire training at a regional fire school and we usually have 2 or 3 trailers that we hook together and we burn ALL DAY, from 0900 until around 1600. We usually get between 30 and 40 burns out of them and believe me they are not pansy fires. We burn them down from one end to the other.
Crazy, but that's how it goes

Don't really know but the fires in one of the bathrooms never quite took off.

We actually got another 2 or 3 smaller ones out of one of the end rooms for the true rookies.

We probably could have gotten another 2-3 burns but we had a small crew and after everybody got in on at least 2 burns, we decided to call it a day and let it go.

                  Troublesome???

                  Damn.

And I've always been told I'm a lot of fun at parties too.

I heard, at parties, you won't make entry and just stand outside yelling at everyone inside having fun. They normally make all cars leave, move the trashcans from the front, and turn off the lights just make you think no one is home.
