Firehouse sleeping bag with sheets

Anyone using or know the name of the sleeping bag developed by a firefighter. It unrolls on the bed and has a fitted sheet then the bag unzips. We move around between stations alot and have to carry all our stuff around. Every time I do a search it comes up with kids sleeping bags.

Cool concept, $100 is a little steep though. I bought a sleeping bag from Wal-Mart for $17 three years ago.

You forget - this product has the word "firefighter" associated with it, therefore it must cost many times what a similar product would cost if sold directly to the civilian community.

Buy two sheets, a pillow case, pillow and a gym bag. If you move around so much why would you want to lug a sleeping bag.

I haven't had a problem; sleeping bag rolled up with two pillows all bungeed together works great for me!

How 'bout this; you do what works for you and we'll do what works for us!! We float like biotches here, and I work lots of overtime and shift swaps. Makes it easy....

Plus, here, unfortunately everyone has their own bed (yes, it's ridiculous to have your own bed for 10 days). So, when I detail in, I'm not going to remove some Brothers sheets to put mine on, then have to re-make their bed. I just place a blanket on top of their bed spread, roll out mine, then reverse the process when I leave.

They're not busting you out in the middle of the night, are they? Why no extra rack for a relief detail?

Detailed whenever, last week I got popped at 8:30 at night. No extra bed for detailers. Go to a firehouse, find a vacant cubicle and take a bed.

Years ago they set the stage by allowing everyone to have their own bed versus hot bunking. Now, some members are appalled when they have to hot bunk due to growing pains.

It's ridiculous, but I'm a lowly 11 year fireman. How do you guys do it?

We hot bunk, and the relief guys have it the worst. Due to the city's budget crisis OT was, for the most part, stopped due to re deployments of dual company houses being eliminated, and a huge relief pool with tons of actors. So if a guy tries to take a UH ( unscheduled holiday) at a wierd time, like 0230, they'll bust out a relief guy at 0230 to cover.

You could add an additional $100 for the honor of having it NFPA certified. Seems only fitting that they start to regulate what you sleep in.

Yeah but if you get cold because the campfire went out you can always push the beds together to conserve warmth.
