  • Fire apparatus stolen in Vt....BOLO

Just received an email about this through official channels - I also have a .pdf document that can be emailed - it is too big to attach here.....

    FIRE APPARATUS STOLEN IN VERMONT:
Firefighters in southern Vermont returned from a fire Wednesday to find one of their fire rigs missing. Wonderful. The rescue truck was discovered missing from the firehouse early this morning after Firefighters returned from a fire in Williamsville from 0300-0500. The apparatus disappeared sometime between Monday and Wednesday morning. Be On The LookOut for a red 2005 medium duty rescue squad with emergency lights and "East Dover" lettered on its side and hopefully still contains medical and rescue equipment.
Anyone with info regarding is asked to contact SWNH Fire Mutual Aid Communications at 1-866-352-1291

latest news is that the missing truck has been found in Albany NY. Being returned to it's home Department.
Sounds like someone needed a ride to NY.

ROFL.....you know...the bus DOES run toward his neck of the woods.....

Here is the news article from the Albany Times Union.....
ALBANY -- A fire rescue truck apparently stolen in Vermont was found Thursday night a long way from home.

Vermont State Police confirmed that firefighters in the small southern Vermont community of East Dover discovered the medium-duty 2005 Ford pick-up size rescue truck designated East Dover Rescue 4 missing from the department garage at 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

The bright red truck with "East Dover Fire Rescue" in big letters on the sides was found in a parking lot near the Albany bus station off Broadway at 7 p.m. Thursday, Albany Police spokesman Detective James Miller said.

The keys were found in the ignition.

Miller said police can only speculate that the thief hopped a bus.

The truck was not damaged and none of its medical and rescue equipment seemed to be disturbed, Miller said.

''The Vermont State Police will be traveling here Friday to get it,'' Miller said.
