        Speaking of which, the town bought some surplus hydrants from the New York City back in the early 60's, I think they were from the late 20's, which are a bastard thread, we had, along with our MA depts., to buy adapters for same. Thankfully the water dept is slowly but surely replacing these. Maybe in about 10 more years we want have to worry about them anymore.

          2 towns North of me has non-standard threads on their hydrants. Years ago, they provided adapters to their mutual aid companies. Another town north of me (outside of our mutual aid response) has different threads as well.
