  • I need technical help buying a small fire truck

    Hi all,

I am planning to buy a new small fire truck. The engine is japanese. I am going to use this truck in a desert climate for a small jet airway. It should be 2400ltrs water tank, and 600ltrs foam. I got some prices from some manufacturers, but i am not sure what should i be asking about other than capacities which i already asked. What other concerns should i make manufacturers aware of in regards to general body building, finishing, quality, etc..how should these tanks be belt? I need any one to help me out ordering this fire truck..i have some photos and some specs...if there's any one could suggest any thing..please do so..if you like to see photos or specs
    my email is [email protected]

So this is for use in Yemen? Would it not be better to ask the end user what their requirements are?

The end user is our company. We have some specs, but we need to know what more technical things should we ask manufacturer to provide. In other words, we need your assistant to give us the tips we should consider before buying a new fire truck..please find attached the specs we got from one factory..but no specs for truck body..so what questions should I put for this manufacturer..
      I need your help..

Contact the major mfg. E-One, Pierce, Rosey. All have experience with building for the intl/export market. Don't buy some French POS.

What does the military use there in Yemen?

One important item- What kind of service/parts are available from the manufacturer in your area?

ARFF vehicles are highly complex, and are prone to breakdown, even with constant preventive maintenance. I would only purchase one from a reputable manufacturer (Oshkosh or Rosenbauer are the only two in my opinion) who can and will issue a well-written warranty that they will follow through with. This should include verbiage for emergent repairs and parts availability.

I understand you are not in the military, but the military use in Yemen at similar facilities, as
well as other government use can give you valuable insight as to parts supply, support, maintenance in your enviroment, etc.
