Our local news reported over 80 structure fires and over 200 FF's fighting the blazes. I believe the FF count, but not too sure on the structure fire count.
Either way, they have a long night and tomorrow a head of them. Hopefully no one gets hurt.
FM1I'm the one Fire and Rescue calls, when they need to be Rescued.

I have done it myself a few times. It was a blast and you really got some good experience. Not too many places you could go and almost guarantee a fire or two... or three.

The members in Detroit fight a lot of fire every day. A lot of the city is blighted and depressed. Factories and other buildings closed. Houses vacant. Fire load is heavy. The members are doing the best they can with what they have. City Hall isn't a big supporter, as they have bundles of problems and the DFD is down on the food chain list.
This happen to be a bad storm that blew through and just made the problems much worst, than they were already.
Buffs go up there all the time to catch jobs. You just have to be very careful when you do as the element is that great.
A tip of the old helmet to the members.
Hang in there.Stay Safe and Well Out There....

Yup and the Detroit brothers are working with a lot of equipment that leaves something to be desired. INCLUDING dispatch equipment. Tip O the leather, those guys do a hell of a job in arguably some of the worst economic conditions in the USA. T.C.
