Leaking and Loose Storz Fitting?????

My department recently bought a lot of used 5” LDH with Storz connections. This is our first venture into storz usage. The one thing we are having a problem with is the hose we purchased is mixed some have a chrome fitting and some have a black aluminum fitting. When you try to mate the chrome fitting hose to the black fitting hose the connection seems to be really loose and actually has a gap between the sections. The fittings both look the same other than aluminum vs chrome and both have gaskets. Are we missing something? Are there different types of storz fittings? Any help is appericiated.

They should work regardless, usually the gaskets are what makes them so snug. You need to check and see how worn the gaskets are. When the gasket is brand new it will somewhat a little hard to put the connections together.

A storz is a storz is a storz.

But a gasket is not always a gasket. Sometimes they are just a big black rubber object in the connector.

Replace the gaskets!
