Recently went to a call down an old two lane black top to find two young men telling us how to get into the fire and which gate would lead us straight into the grass fire which was rolling by now due to high winds and dry conditions. Fought direct attack and spent our water to come back out to the water transport to find the two young men had flipped a switch and were no longer friendly and were calling every first responder any and everything in the book that was unfriendly. One was finally taken into custody And hauled to the local jail and the other was calmed down. After using our second tank of water my driver and myself were pulling back into the staging area when we heard four distinct gunshots come from the front of the young mans house. We walked up to find he had gotten an ar-15 and loaded up and popped some rounds in the air to get us to leave his property. Our chief instructed us to head to the station and the second young man was arrested by the state troopers and taken into custody. Needless to say boys always be aware of your surroundings and bystanders. The people are getting less thankful for what we do and taking us for granted and doing crazy things like what I just told.
