Videographer charged with arson in brush fire
(Lancaster-AP) -- A freelance videographer has been charged with
arson for allegedly starting a fire near Santa Clarita that he
recorded and sold footage of to television news programs.
Joshua Alan Harville pleaded innocent to one count of aggravated
arson, one count of arson of a forest or structure with loss
exceeding one (m) million dollars and three counts of arson of an
inhabited structure.
He's charged with starting the five-thousand-acre Bouquet Canyon
fire that raged for three days last September and took more than
12-hundred firefighters to contain. Four homes were destroyed and
two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion.
Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set. A
sheriff's deputy says they focused on Harville after he made
several appearances on television news broadcasts.
