    ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A man received a 2 1/2-year federal prison
term for torching a laboratory at the Rensselaer Polytechnic
    Institute campus where he worked.
Stephen C. Lee, 53, of Troy, was sentenced Monday and must repay
the school $50,000 as part of a plea deal, according to the U.S.
    Attorney Glenn Suddaby.
Lee pleaded guilty in March to setting fire to the Walker
    Laboratory on in July 1994.
He worked for 27 years as a compliance specialist in the Office
of Environmental Health and Safety at RPI in Troy, just northeast
of Albany. He had also been a part-time security guard at Hudson
    Valley Community College in Troy.
Police arrested Lee in December 2002 and charged him with a car
fire at the community college. He later told police he set the
laboratory fire and other fires at the school, as well as a brush
