How many GPM do you run your CAFS lines at?

1 3/4" Hose?
2" Hose?
2 1/2" Hose?

It will depend on your system, how its balanced brand and type of hose nozzle tips, type of foam blanket ect we have an Waterous Eclips.
On our 13/4 lines we flow about 90psi 125gpm 45scfm the gpm and cfm varies a little depending on tip size,we use smoothbores with 11/8 tips and 13/8 waterways, and saberjets with 15/16 tip.

21/2 inch line at 80psi 190gpm 85 cfm,and the line is easily movable, last barn fire we were at 120psi 240gpm 95cfm on the 21/2 120psi 140gpm 55cfm on 13/4s
If we want a thick "shaving Cream" on th 13/4 its about 30 gpms 65 cfms @90psi

Anyone useing Cafs on a Blizfire and what are your flow rates

Please understand that a GOOD CAFS is fully adjustable with the amount of water, the amount of air, and the amount of foaming concentrate. There are very few CAFS instructors that know anything about selecting the best or most affective settings for the conditions of fire. A 15/16 reducing tip is NOT a good thing on a CAFS line. I recommend a full flow 1-3/8 shut off valve be used on the attack lines. If you don't understand how to adjust the expansion ratio of the system then simply watch the full open nozzle discharge, start opening the water valve from the pump and when you see the type of foam you like, leave the water lever in that position. If you want the foam to be wetter, move the water lever a little more open. Do not restrict the air volume, open the air lever all the way open and use all the air available. The water lever determines how much FOAM volume is flowing. And DO adjust the concentrate lever to change how fast the bubbles break and how fast the water in the bubbles is drained out of the foam. But most of all, be aware of the CAFS instructors knowledge. There is a LOT of BAD INFORMATION being given. I use 120 psi, 40+- gpm, 185 cfm. and 1/2 % +- concentrate settings.
