  • What is Current Wheel Chock Spec?

I understand that NFPA relented somewhat, recently, on the height a wheel chock is supposed to be. Can anyone give me the info on what the most current spec is?

    From NFPA 1901, 2003 Edition:

Two wheel chocks, mounted in readily accessible locations, each designed to hold the apparatus, when loaded to its maximum in-service weight, on a 10 percent grade with the transmission in neutral and the parking brake released.

They don't give dimensions any more?

I did not find any reference to actual chock size. Just that they had to hold on a 10% incline.

The post is right about the chocks - section 5.8.3 Miscellaneous Equipment, #17...

I saw no dimensional requirements either.
