  • Aluminum wheel polish?

I use Mothers mag wheel polish, but heard in this forum of another aluminum polish that works easier and better. While skeptical, I want to try it out. Does anyone know of what it was called? I forget.

We use the generic window cleaner w/vinegar for most of our touch up. We also use some other stuff but i can't remember the name.

Both Mothers and Meguires sell a metal polisher wax. I've used this before as a top coat to polishing with regular mag polish, it gives a great luster and lasts a lot longer than straight polish. If you stay on top of it you can just repolish with this stuff and each time you do it gets brighter (its a finer cut abrasive).

BTW, don't polish the wheels if they have a clear coat finish on them (you can get it done and they last about 5 years before needing a reapplication).

Just used the Speedy Metal Polish this past week. It works good on diamond plate, but still it's a bitch to clean. It does excellent on Alcoa aluminum wheels. It is better than "Mothers" because it also contains wax to offer a protective coat. It was also easier to work with. Thanks to those who turned me on to this revolutionery product.

My order just arrived the other day. Guess I know what our juniors and I are going to be doing this weekend.

I like to use Wenol metal polish and follow with a coat of automotive wax.

The best aluminum polish period is Alcoa PDQ. I used to look after a fleet of highway trucks with a few drivers that really took some pride in their rigs.I supplied them with all different brands of polishes until we found Alcoa PDQ and never looked back. It applies easy, cleans well and shines like you wouldn't believe. You probably have to get it from a truck shop or dealer parts dept.

                  Good luck!
