  • E-One Manual

    I drive a 2004-05 E-One Typhoon 2,000 GPM

Upon delivery, when new, no manuals of any sort were provided.

Next to contacting E-One, does anyone know where I might find some data on the apparatus?

Also, what are some good, CURRENT publications for modern pumping apparatus that deal with Fire Commanders and newer single-stage pumps?

I am looking for any kind of material to increase overall knowledge base of water supply, pumping, fire streams, foam, etc. Free is good.

I have old IFSTA books, but a lot of that material seems outdated.

    Thanks

No fire apparatus manufacturer that I know of provides manuals for the apparatus which they have just delivered to anyone fire department, just for the heck of it.

It cost money to print and assemble these things.

They will however provide, the department buying said apparatus has the manual provisions in the specification, which will be included in the cost of the apparatus.

Your best bet is to contact the dealer which the department bought the apparatus through.

Then that is who you need to contact for the manuals. Make sure you get all the manuals for every piece that is installed on the rig. This includes the engine, trans, axles, and all electronic parts. This includes all the electronics and equipment for the pump and accessories. You should also have a DVD from Waterous included as well.

As for "current" publications on various equipment and accessories, just look up the manufacturer of the component or system you need info on. Most companies have them available on their website, and usually free of charge.

            Manuals

They supply the manuals in electronic form on a CD. They have an option for printed manuals. Someone in your department got the Cd's when the truck was delivered. Contact E-One Service Department with the Shop Order number or VIN number on the drivers door post and they will probably send you a copy of the CD. We got the CD's and printed our own manuals. Pain in the a#ss, but it gave a light duty person something to do.

The only way you can get that is many to buy the LED headlights, a spare set of them, tell EVERYONE you can find about how great of a truck it is no matter how tired they are from hearing about it, and get Sutphen logos tattooed all over your body.

Pierce would have given you 15 copies, but you would never open them because nothing EVER goes wrong with a pierce.
