  • R Edwards Fire Appliance London

Saw this old fire truck in London the other day so thought I’d share it with you guys.

Does anyone know anything about R Edwards Fire Appliance Ltd?

The thing that really jumped out in terms of change of design is how much of a ‘box’ the cab is. The front is perfectly straight vertically! The newer designs seem to have more curves.

I've never heard of them but they are most likely a private company that provide fire safety solutions and tests. The main reason they have a fire engine is so they can test dry risers. They probably also use it for private event cover and maybe as a seedy 'fire limo'. It's certainly not a local authority fire engine that you'll see working at fires on the streets of London. It is quite old I think it's a Dennis (don't ask me the model, I'm not a fire engine buff!). Chances are it used to be a London Fire Brigade appliance that was sold when retired.
