  • Jet Powered Ambulance

I was just sent this link to a video spec for our new ambulance:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbApAo260K0

I wonder how hard it would to ausculate blood pressures and/or do any
kind of procedure when you are pinned to the back door of the squad
    going down the road

Start up seems kind of slow, but once you get it going and think of the
price of fuel. But it sure would be fun to try.

I think call volume would go one of two ways.....way down..or through the roof.

Could you get within 500 feet of it while moving in anything else?

Both Seattle & San Francisco tried jet powered apparatus back in the '60s. (Really!). They soon scrapped the rigs when citizens complained about the noise on city streets...

Guess they didn't think that one through.

Pretty cool...you might need to wear proximity gear (those "aluminum foil" suits worn by ARFF) when loading the pt. in the rear...could get a little toasty if the driver taps the gas though...

                  Just my 2 cents...Stay Safe...

                    Sarcasm Alert!!!!!

Wonder if he is able to stop at all the green lights while responding also?!!!! hahahaha

Might as well just divert from the normal ER and rush the pt. to the burn center!
