We currently own an Excel chassis that was purchased in 1997 and it has been a great truck. The one major reason for us going with the Predator was the location of the air conditioner and the crash testing. On the Excel they will only put the air conditioner on the doghouse which we did not want due to blocking the open cab design.

To view pictures of our drawings goto: www.sergeantsville.org/newtruckpictures.htm

We are expecting delivery in April or May of 2007.

    A little about the truck.

We chose the 400hp Cummins engine with a 1500 GPM Hale QMax pump with a Pneumax/Foam Pro CAFS system. The truck will carry 750 gallons of water and 30 gallons of Class A foam. The truck has full depth (26 inch deep) rescue body compartments on both sides, full height. The ladders slide in the rear but do not impinge into the compartments. The truck also has a hydraulic 15 KW Onan generator with a 6000 watt light tower which extends up out of the pump housing.

The bid price was just under $440,000.

If your department is dealing with ( J B Hunt ) out of Trenton, N.J. , they are very good to work with before & after the sale. The KME web site lists about 5 different Predator chassis cabs to pick from !...
