        Any problems with Harrison ?

Any problems? We have a choice Harrison or Onan. Harrison will be easer to install.

We have 2 Harrison 10kW PTOs on pumpers and an Onan 30kW shaft drive PTO on the heavy rescue. All work very well and haven't let us down at all. More importantly, make sure you spec switches in the right spots so the lights can be operated from the cab easily. Our one pumper there are no switches in the cab for the 120V scene lights or the 12V for that matter. The reason for PTOs is so you can drive and have AC power and as you are pulling up to a scene to turn night into day, rather than have to get out and flip switches then realize you shouldn't have parked where you are.

we currently use Onan 10 kw generators. We have 7 engines that we got in 1997 that had A.M.P.S hydraulic and they SUCKED!!!! I don't know the difference between Harrison and AMPS, but each truck went through on average of 4 A.M.P.S generators each in 6 years. Finally someone got smart and put 5kw Honda generators on all those engines. We have had zero problems with the Onans and have about 14 engines with them.

I don't know who said it, but while "you don't always get what you pay for, you always pay for what you get!" We have two 15KW AMPS - the first two for my department, and probably the last. Not happy with them at all - we're writing specs for a new rescue, and it won't have an AMPS on it, that's a given.

I haven't heard anything bad about Harrison, and have called them 3-4 times recently regarding specs and installation of their units. I'm very impressed each time I've called - I've gotten an answer to every question, no hesitation, no B.S. - just good customer service. We'll probably spec the 30KW Harrison.

It's not a real install. I can't see any duct tape.
