  • Tillered quints

Has Seagrave built a tillered quint in recent years? I know KME and American LaFrance have. I don't know about any other builders. I am seeing more and more tillered quints on the internet and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with one of them. I know LA County has a few from KME and Woodinville?, Washington has an American LaFrance one. Being from Texas I have not had the experience of seeing many tillers operate. Dallas and San Antonio are the only department in Texas that operate them and I think they may have only one each. I hear Dallas has ordered more tillers though.

Just for grins, the Rancho Cuchamonga, California has a new KME tillered quint that is absolutely enormous.

Empire Hook and Ladder Co. of Upper Nyack in Rockland County, New York operates what you speak of. They have a Seagrave 100' tillered quint they run as Ladder Co. 10-98 complete with wooden ground ladders. Classic white over red that includes the tiller seat enclosure in the same paint scheme. Just a thought.

Stay low and move it in.
