My dept is starting to look for a used tanker. What are some of the better used truck listing sites? I've checked a couple such as fentonfire.com but they didn't have much listed. Thanks.

Can you be a little more specific:
How old?
How much money are you looking to spend?
Do you want a refurb or one that you could provide your own TLC?
Are you interested in an elliptical or tank-and-body design?
Sorry for all the questions, but we need to ask so as to send you in the right direction.
Also, VERY IMPORTANT: Provide contact information. Some if us may know of a department getting ready to replace an apparatus.
Good hunting!

That ought to keep you busy for a few minutes!
Be careful with brokered trucks...sometimes they will appear on more than one site, and because of differences in commissions, they will be priced differently. To answer the above questions we are looking for something in the 2000 to 3000 gallon range with 750 or 500gpm pump. Price would prefer to be 85000 or less if possible but I don't have a definitive answer on that one.
This is the truck that we were going to call on. Something similar to this is what we are looking for.

You'll find there are about 500x FD looking for 10yr old 2000gal tanker with PTO pump on a Diesel Auto chassis under $100k.
If you find one you have have to move on it immediately. At minimum put up some $ (refundable) pending inspection. You want to have three boardmeetings and go to the bank twice and apply for a grant you're not going to buy it. Make personal contact with a few quality brokers and get on their looking for/wait list.
Get your $ in hand/or preapproved loan, a very limited broad spec/wish list, and very small committee (or trusted individual) that authorized to inspect and purchase. Then go buying (not shopping).
