  • Throwing out "institutional" knowledge?

Apparently the web team is becoming active. But I don't think in the correct area. There area many times I've done a search for information on a subject and have found a useful rigorous discussoin on the subject. But now all that old stuff is to be deleted??? What? Bandwidth and storage is so cheap now as to be meaningless. Do we need to pass that hat?

Please refrain from thread bumping. We request that new threads be started when there has not been activity on the thread for greater than 60 days. We are working to get all old threads closed.

    Thank you.

    Sir or madam,

I suggest you reevalute this idea. This is silly. May of the old threads have tremendous amounts of valuable information on equipment and operations. For example the rural water supply, drafting from ponds, LDH operations. When I need info I use the search for a thread on the subject at hand. You're going to throw all that out? Rediculous.

Perhaps your concept has application to the Off Duty Forum (Maybe) but I don't think is smart otherwise.

Yep. Many many people have tried to explain this concept to them. But they do not care or listen. They operate in a dimmension of this universe other than ours and have no clue what they are doing. We all tell them until we're blue in the face what they're doing is wrong and extremely useless, but they ignore it and don't even reply.
Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers.

Based on a recent communique I got from them,it seems we MAY have struck a nerve. They are currently "re-evaluating". T.C.

I'm the one Fire and Rescue calls, when they need to be Rescued.

            They've been re-evaluating since approximately 2002.
