E-ONE Invests in New York Facility
and Launches Stainless Steel Product Line


Ocala, FL (July 14, 2010) – Market-leading fire apparatus manufacturer, E-ONE, Inc., opens a new 75,000 square foot facility in Hamburg, New York. The facility will specialize in manufacturing stainless steel apparatus, refurbishment, technical service and support.

E-ONE has appointed Bill Savage, a 30-year industry veteran and expert in stainless steel fire apparatus design and manufacturing, as president of the New York facility. Savage has assembled a highly-experienced team to support new and existing E-ONE customers.

Maybe this S/S venture for E-One will work out better than their last one when they bought out Saulsbury years back. I wonder if the E-One facility in Hamburg is truly a "new" facility or if they are using the old RD Murray/ALF facility that closed down last year.

That's what I thought. I would also like to think that the many of the employees that will work at this new E-One plant used to work at the Hamburg facility or even possibly at Saulsbury in Preble before it closed.

It's the old RD Murray/ALF facility.

So I suppose this will be bad luck to E-One as well, as following the other at that plant.

It is at least creating employment for some New Yorkers who lost jobs when ALF closed it down.

The local papers reported a few months back that Savage when to the local town board and was trying to extend the tax abatements and other tax incentives they got during the alf years on the property. Apparently they must have been successful.

it has a antibusiness tax structure, but if you relocate there the economic development groups will give you tons of tax breaks and variances. Then you just relocate once those expire.

Pretty much the game. Steal from your neighbors. IF you can get key employees to move with you.

If the econ dev people would put the effort into developing homegrown business and conviencing the socialists in the various statehouses to becoming PRO business then they would accomplish something meaningful (raises all boats).
