Can anyone describe the hiring process for Fairfax Va. I took the written and am waiting for the CPAT. Do they establisha list or hire as needed?

I looked over the City of Fairfax web site and the only thing I could find was that Fire/Medic is a continuous recruitment position. This would indicate to me that they have a shortage of people and would hire as needed - but thats just my opinion.

I'm sure that you already have contact information since you have taken the written test but I'll provide the link to their site just in case.

First are you asking about Fairfax City or Fairfax County? Fairfax County you finish process and you will be put on some kinda list, they take 24 at a time for the academy. if you have paramedic you will move quicker thru the process, which is written, cpat, interview, medical w/ stress test, polygraph, psychological test...Good Luck..Fairfax County Fire/Rescue
