A commercially growing community of 5,000+ in eastern Washington seeks a self-motivated individual to serve as Deputy Fire Chief. The department is comprised of 8 paid people and 30 volunteers. The duties are diverse, including personnel management, code enforcement, and training. This represents an excellent opportunity for a developing professional interested in refining his/her skills.
Minimum qualifications include Washington State driver’s license (or ability to obtain), high school diploma or equivalent, ten years experience in fire and EMS service delivery, five years experience at the Captain rank or above with a similar organization, three years experience in fire code enforcement (UFC Fire Code certification w/i first year), three years experience in fire and EMS training, physical ability to actively engage in fire suppression activities. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in certain areas.
