We do ours locally. Pretty simple. Dark blue with a small department logo on the front and "Ritzville Fire/Rescue" on the back. I'll post a pic later today.
I get to play with firetrucks, what more can I say?

Pics, a couple days late. This is one of our tees. We put the same setup on hoodies, henleys, polos, whatever. Pretty plain but looks professional. We also embroider the same front logo on stuff. Silkscreening is cheaper for the tees though.

I have 2 diferent ones, one from a few years ago, that we had a maltese cross sewed on it on the left side, which also has a pocket which is nice thing to have if you ask me. it also has the name of dept above it, and your name below the maltese cross.

The ones we got just a little bit ago was a t-shirt and sweatshirt, that had the maltese cross and dept. name underneath it and then the dept. name on the back, this one was silk-screened, it doesn't look to bad.

the one thing I would do is check with local sport shops and stuff like that and see what they can offer you.

My old volunteer department issued black shirts with the Maltese Cross on the left breast with the department name in the tabs and the department name centered in the back.
We did have a shirt for one of the engines calling us"The Farlem Knights"because we were stationed on the Farley side of Reidland Farley Fire Department.
Now,they issue a shirt with the member's name and their qualification(FF/EMT,LT/EMT.etc)on the right breast with the above Maltese Cross on the left and the department name in back.
Looks sharp and professional all at once.
On another note, they were done locally so the money stayed in the local economy, which is always good for a community service.

Our department wears the t-shirts like above. Except we just switched to Grey instead of navy blue. I sell screen printed shirts and sell them to FD's at a good price. If you have any questions please let me know.

My company's duty shirts are dark blue with our name above the right breast pocket, American Flag on the right shoulder, and our company patch on the left shoulder.

They can be ordered from any company that sells uniforms (galls, 911se.com, etc.)
