Hey,
I am planning on trying to become a live-in at a Volunteer Fire Dept. in Prince George County, when I graduate High School. I plan on going to college up there and get my Fire Science degree. I understand that PGFD has a long process to get on up there. My question is about the Medical Exam. How strict are they on the hearing portion? I have had hearing problems, most of my life, and wear a hearing aid in my right ear and an implant on my left side (which I take off when I am performing fire ground activities). So far, since I joined the Fire Service in 2006, I have had no problems with them when it comes to firefighting. Would they pass me or not? Any tips on what I could do to get through this? I was thinking I could get my Doctor to write a recommendation letter for me.
Thanks for all the help
