New truck went in service today!

Well today was a proud day for our horribly under funded ghetto department lol. We bought a new truck a few months back ( first new truck in 40 yrs ) and finally put her in service today. Sent the truck to our dispatch to have the radio installed and the installer cracked the window ( they are replacing it and not to happy ) with the seat backing.

She is a 2009 Rosenbauer/Central Division side mount pumper with 1000 gallon tank and 1250 GPM pump, mounted on a Spartan Metro Star Chassis. She also has a 25 gallon foam tank as well and can seat 6 firefighters. Waiting on our new 5 inch intake valve to arrive ( we pulled the intake valve off our now 87 Seagrave reserve truck ). This truck will turn on a dime, too. Our old Betsey is an 87 Seagrave with a 500 gallon tank that is now in reserve. She has gotten us through some rough times with out fail.

It's pretty stock. Still need to write and thank Code 3 for donating us some lights for the truck.Nothing fancy on her. She'll do what we need her to do. We'll be up dating the truck at some point with LED tail lights and Moving the front blinkers up more and adding LEDs were the blinkers are.

Judging by the photos and the buildings in the background it was time for your department to receive a big upgrade...

Our department here is in the process of getting a new engine and tanker, considering a new ladder and rescue for next year.

Thanks,man. It's been a long time coming. Apparently a department we already have a mutual aid agreement with heard the truck is a 1000 gallon pumper ( only one in the area that is 1000 ) and they now want to add us to their run card for highway now. Another one is also considering it as well,too.

And that is the best type of fire engine. No "bling", all workhorse. Nice rig.
