What ranks/responsibilities do you need?

Our job descriptions are based on the NJ Civil Service. This applies to our volunteer officers as well.
Fire Lieutenant (First Level Officer)
Fire Captain (First or Second Level Officer)

In our case we take advantage of peoples strengths and experience.

All officers are required to assist in training, some are better at it so they do it more.

All officers are required to oversee the personel in their engine companies and deal with issues such as poor attendance.

One officer is in charge of keeping medical supplies stocked.

One officer is in charge of SCBA maintainance.

I'm a mechanic so of course I get apparatus maintanance.

All officers are required to have ICS skills and be able to assume IC on any incident.

All officers are required to be 'on call' and remain in the district one weekend every other month. Our chief is on call during the week. This way we provide 24\7\365 coverage.

All officers are to set good examples and enforce department regulations.
