Hey , looking for some advice.
i have been in the fire service for about 2 years , have got my certifications and gone through academy , and all has been well. i was planning on going career untill i just found out that 1582 has ruled me out of firefighting for good. it states that any rods in place in the back and more then 2 fused vertebre is a class 1 medical condition and you are unfit to fight fire. well obviously the last 2 years has proved this wrong, and if anything my back is stronger and better than ever.can i be check off by a doctor , or to fight this am i looking at having to deal with the nfpa direct or with a lawyer. i refuse to lose my spot in the fire service for something that does not hinder me in any way and actualy just makes me better built.
thanks for the help
