    Apparatus Bay Reflective Striping Question

    Does anybody know if there are any NFPA standards regarding the back up reflective striping lines that are painted on the floor of most apparatus bays? I am trying to paint them, but I want to make sure they are the correct width.

      Dude...just buy the tape, why would you waste the time, money and effort to paint them?

            We found that the lines lasted longer using 3M's pavement marking paint than with any of the affordable tapes out there. It doesn't take long, even to d it right the first time.

            NFPA has some stupid **** in their standards...but I don't think they have gone as far as a standard for bay floor painting. (I Hope)

              We had them painted in when the floors were done (whatever special paint they use on bay floors).

                I need to notify the NFPA to create a new standard. How could they miss such an important detail?

                  Did you check the standard on how to suggest a standard???

                    I removed all of the tape on the bay floors and painted the lines in. I also extended the lines to outside of the bays.
