You won't need anything until you get out in the field. They'll give you everything you'll need in the academy. When you get to your station, they'll be more than happy to show you what to buy, what's a waste of money, etc.

For those of you that carry a multi-tool which one do you use? I start my academy at the end of March and have the itch to start getting my gear together.
